Rules, Instructions on Commenting, and the Scoring System

We are using Blogger for the SusCom American Idol Super Pool because, most likely, at some point during Idol a good deal of us we be dispersed to other companies and email addresses. This website is the best and easiest way for everyone to stay in the game, stay in touch, and make their picks.

Picks:
Weekly picks are due by 2:00 PM ET on the day of the American Idol Results Show. Please make your picks in the Results Show post's comments. Make sure you get your picks in on time. Picks received after the deadline will not be counted.

Commenting:
To comment/make you picks, click the Comment link at the bottom of that Results Show day's post. You will be directed to the post's Comments page. Under Chose Your Identity, select Other. In the Name box, enter your name. In the Enter your comment text box, make your picks and any snarky comments you wish to make. Click Publish Your Comment to submit your picks.

After publishing your comment, click the IDOL SUPER POOL text at the top of the comments page to return to the home page.

To try to prevent pool members' picks from influencing each other, Results Show day comments will be moderated. That means until 2:00 PM ET on Results Show day, comments/picks will not be viewable. Once everyone's Comments/Picks are received, I will approve the Comments/Picks and they will be viewable to all competitors. You will be free to post unmoderated comments all other days of the week.

Scoring:
Weeks 1 - 3 (from 24 contestants to 12):
Select 2 guys and 2 gals who you think will get the axe
1 point if any of your picks gets the boot (4 points maximum per round)

Weeks 4 - 11 (from 12 contestants to 4):
Select 2 contestants who you think will get the axe
1 point if one of your 2 choices ends up in the bottom three and is sent back to safety
2 points if one of your 2 choices is in the Bottom 2 and gets sent back to safety
3 points if one of your choices gets the axe
You will receive the highest points awarded to that specific contestant; no double points for being in the Bottom 2 and being voted off

Weeks 12 - 13 (from 4 contestants to 2):
Select 1 contestant who you think will get the axe
3 points if your choice gets the axe; all or nothing

Scoring for the Final Week:
Once the field is narrowed to 2 potential Idols, you will submit one choice for who you think will WIN; 5 point value

Bonus Points - Idol Champion Selection:
After the final 10 is determined, select who you think will win Idol. If that contestant ends up winning, you receive 5 points
