Phil and C-Rich Go Home

We get a good ten twenty minute recap of last week's show. Studdard (The Big....whatever) can hardly keep a straight face as he does a promo for Idol Cares. Have some tact, Ruben. Melinda is certainly feeling "huge" about helping out on last week's show. Ugh, I have a strong distaste for Robin Thicke. He's no ol' JT, that's for sure. Someone should tell Phil his constant kissing up to Bon Jovi isn't going to factor in to whether he stays or goes. At least Fantasia didn't crack up in her Idol Cares promo (like Ruben). She kept it real. Phil, and his Bon Jovi man-crush, are shown the door. Nice of Idol to torture C-Rich and Blake with the decision while Jon Bon Jovi plays a crappy new song. Taylor Hicks brags, and then asks for America's support during his Idol Cares promo. C-Rich is the second bootee. Since Idol broke the 6 remainings into two bottom threes, the Pool gets points all around. See below for the details.

Note to self: Next time Simon inexplicably calls out an otherwise very well received OPENING performance as "not enough to get you through to the next round" - pick that contestant! (He knows something we don't, right?)

I think he'd found his groove the last few weeks, but nevermind that.

He went 1st on Tuesday and delivered a very good performance. Crowd loved it, Dawg dug it, Paula liked it (okay, so only 1 of those 3 count)... and Cowell declares that Phil wasn't good enough to get through without having seen anyone else perform? That's very odd, and unprecedented following at minimum a respectable performance.

I don't trust this show at all. Jones and Blake were in the bottom 3 the week prior to the buy-a-net-athon. Nothing significant happened performance-wise on the ribbon show, billions of votes were cast. Then this week, Cowell called out Phil and C-Rich, while Kiki got a kiss, Blake Doug-Freshed Bon Jovi, Jordin played her "get out of jail free" card and Doolittle landed the coveted closer-role.

I'm convinced one of the following is true: 1) These aren't contestants, they're dominoes; or 2) Cowell was privy to the ribbon show's voting results and shaped his comments accordingly to satisfy his sweltering ego!

I in no way disagree with your conspiracy theory assessment. Idol definitely isn't on the straight-and-narrow.

They've got to be slanting it for Jordin or LaKisha to win.

Blake doesn't have a good enough voice and he's funny-looking (see Yamin) and Melinda - however good of a professional singer she is - is virtually unmarketable...moreso than Fantasia.

This season is flat-out week. None of these people would have broken into the final 4 or 6 last year.
