Navratilova McBride. Wind it up and it runs 7 deep. Is Phil the dorkiest guy ever? He must have had an epiphany on stage tonight, because he declares country is what he "wants to do", but gave no evidence of being a pick-up man at any point previously on
Idol. Jordin belts out another one, and in the process sort of rubs McBride's nose in it by covering her song better than MM sang it. Sanjaya really tried this week, and in the process may have retrogressed towards his pre-J-Lo days. Regardless, he provided the judges and C-crest something to talk about. LaKisha attempts to one-up Carrie Underwood, but falls far short. Jesus, take the mic! C-Rich gives some twang a go, but Simon says he comes up tin-y and something else. C-Rich obvs feels the pressure of a not-so-hot performance, and sends a shout-out to VaTech to attempt to generate some sympathy votes. Melinda proceeds to snow over Martina with the "aww shucks, me?" act and then no-neck-edly sings a strong little ditty (while wearing what seems to be a burlap bag). Simon finally sets her straight on her aw shucksedness. It only took him 9 weeks to see through her guise. Blake caps off a really milk toast country night on
Idol with a Tim McGraw song. He should have selected "I Like It, I Love It". I know someone who karaoke'd that song and was quite a hit a long time, and many beers ago.

I completely missed the live results show. But thanks to the magic of Comcast DVR, I was able to fast forward through the replay. We get Fergie, but she neglects to sing "Glamorous", "Fergalicious" or "My Humps"?! Boo! Bring back That Konvict. Bottom three is Sanjaya, LaKisha and Blake. The bell tolls for Sanjaya.
